Blessed Assurance

To be counted
Among the chosen
Is no small thing.
It is the greatest privilege
One could ever receive.
For it is not something you can earn,
Nor is it something you can buy.
It is not something you can
Carefully contemplate and choose.
It is simply a gift given.
Nothing more and nothing less.
Just a gift you might say?
No, it is The gift of all gifts.
The gift of a beautiful future
Beyond this life;
Eternal life.
The gift of adoption;
Of an inheritance.
The ultimate gift of love.
The gift of salvation.
Given by the Maker of all things,
Jehovah, the Almighty,
Sovereign God
The One who sent His Son,
Jesus.
To pay the penalty due
To satisfy Justice
Through death on a cross
He did not deserve death.
He committed no sin.
Lived the only perfect life,
Yet willfully
Laid it down to fulfill
Prophecy, Scripture.
He defined humility and
Strength to the rest of us.
To realize what He did, and understand
How wretched I am.
Yes, I am a wretched human.
No better than the worst of us.
I deserve hell.
Were it not for the
Grace of God.
To realize that He chose me
From the beginning of time.
Before He commanded,
"Let there be light,"
He had a plan, and the plan included
Me to be one of His own.
I did nothing, I was nothing,
Am still nothing without Him.
Yet I am His!
His Spirit within me is a
Deposit branding me as
One of His own.
He called out my name!
I was not searching for Him.
He drew me to Himself!
I barely knew He was there.
He opened my eyes to
My sinfulness!
Introduced me to
His love and forgiveness!
He filled me with His Holy Spirit!
Changed my life forever.
It has never been the same.
Now Heaven is mine!
Fellowship with the Father
Forever I will enjoy!
I cannot wait to meet in person
The One who gave so much to spare me!
I cannot understand it!
My mind cannot comprehend it!
Why? Why me?
The question of the ages!
A mystery to be revealed;
Perhaps once in Heaven.
This I know; to this I hold.
Salvation can be yours, and
Nothing can ever take it away!
Jesus Christ is Lord forever!
Do you hear Him?
Do you feel the tug?
You'll know when
He's calling your name.
